"Sword of Chaos"
Workflow:
I basically started out with a base composition in a 3-D software( any 3-D software should work) to position my camera angles and then the lighting. This saves a lot of time especially when making environments from scratch. My 3-D bases can take from 10-30 mins worth. I try to get the general shape and lights to where I want things to be. By making the 3-D base first, it can save me from hours of work especially when I'm painting things from scratch.
Next Step is basically to use your digital painting skills and do a "paintover". I painted some textures in, intensify the glows, and pretty much painted some details in. I also use some photobashing techniques to accelerate my workflow. I adding some textures to the pillars and floors.

This project off and on took around 1-2 days worth. Painting took a long time.

Final product! Definitely one of my concept art pieces I made for someone! It was a long process, you can look at for the before stage and details on my workflow! :)

I started out with a quick set in a 3D software for the base. I matched my desired camera position and added some basic lights to match what I wanted.
